The homie Theophilus London recently dropped his “Rose Island” mixtape a few days ago. I’m definitely a big fan of each track and this is easily one of my favorite Theo tapes. Make sure you download “Rose Island” here.

The homie Kirill swung by my birthday party over at Goldbar in New York City last week. The birthday bash included music by DJ Sinatra, a Ronnie Fieg x New Balance “Steel Blue” 999 birthday cake and a performance by Theophilus London. Checkout the photos here and thanks to everyone who came out to celebrate. Sunglasses and Advil…

Check the 1:00 mark. Shout to my brother Theophilus, this video is dope!

This past Friday I released my Asics Ultra Marine GT-II’s and the reaction at the David Z. flagship was a bit overwhelming. My team and I got there around 9:15 and the line was 45 deep, most of which camped out from the night before. At 10am when the shop opened there were at least 65 people waiting for these and every single one of them got breakfast sandwiches, it was the least I could do for the homies waiting to grab a pair. The crew came through, Adam, Sean, Nick, Ryan, Angel and the big homie Theophilus London were all there to support, shout to all of you. Check out these pics by @VagrantSneaker who was there from 6am to cover the event.

Theophilus London – “Last Name London” by TheophilusLondon

A few weeks ago I was in the Dominican Republic working on my Spring 2012 line and Theophilus was in town for a concert. He came through to the Sebago factory in Santa Domingo and we went to work. We wanted the shoe to represent his current state of mind so he played the new single for me and that shit really blew my mind. Theo has a very unique style and it was only right that he would want to work on a classic penny. I was thrilled he did because that style really represents the other side of Sebago, the side that most people don’t know about. This 1 of 1 triple black Classic Penny Loafer is made with Jet-Black 2H rich suede with black Patent leather and the traditional leather sole. So very clean. After we made these joints we rolled to the radio station where homie tore down the building, smh… I wish I caught that on tape. And later that night he performed at some heavenly spot on a rooftop with 350 people in these loafers. The entire trip was epic.

“I met with Ronnie in Santo Domingo as he was designing his fall line for Sebago and he wanted me to design a shoe to perform in that night for the concert. I nicked named em “Prince TL’s” but after Ronnie heard “Last Name London” we decided to design a loafer for the song. I’m a Shoe collector and a fan of Suede and leather and I wanted to combine the two. There is only 1 pair in the world and they on my feet!!!!! Shouts to SEBAGO and Ronnie. SWAG SWAG” Check out the Theophilus blog on Hypebeast here.

Spring is finally here and I couldn’t think of a more perfect shoe than the Clarks Desert boot to compliment Spring/Summer apparel. Some colors just look perfect in certain leathers and this hue of blue in a matte faded nubuck is a prime example. Because the color is lighter than most Desert Boots it makes it easier to see the highs and lows in the nubuck, something I was definitely aiming for when working on this sample. Priced at $92, 300 pairs of the Slate Blue Desert boots will be available this Friday, April 8th at the David Z flagship (556 Broadway 212.431.5450) as well as the Davidz.com website at 10am Est.
