Re-introducing the ASICS Gel Lyte V. I feel honored to have been selected in being part of bringing back this early 90′s runner to the marketplace. This archival model from ASICS is a unique tech runner that I was excited to get my hands on to mark the second year in business for Kith. To help reflect Kith’s current state of growing not only as a shop but now as a full on brand, I felt ready to create a shoe that was inspired by Kith growing out of its “active stage” and hopefully to its future state of eruption.

Named the Ronnie Fieg x ASICS Gel Lyte V “Volcano,” this special lace-up sneaker features a strong mix of high grade nubuck, sport mesh, pigskin, neoprene and 3M detailing. The shoe allows for very creative color blocking that I was happy to get my hands on.

The shoe starts with a Pink neoprene stretched tongue with matching striped detailing running along the side panels. Red and Burgundy color blocking intertwine around the upper in premium nubuck and pigskin, with a wavy overlay on the eyestay, which runs from the front to the heel and is executed in a bright Red pigskin to really break up the shoe. A Burgundy sport mesh toe stretches below along the sides of the shoe, while the back heel is seen made up of Navy “ASICS” branding and with a single stitched Orange panel around the achilles. An Off-White midsole with pink waved detailing separates the shoe from the Red, Off-White and Navy outsole below. The contrast between colors is what makes the shoe so unique. Check out the full shoot here.

Each pair of shoes will come packaged with a special set of Kith x Stance “Volcano” invisible socks. The invisible “Volcano” socks feature 3M “Kith” branding on one toe, and a 3M Ronnie Fieg Volcano logo on the other. Standard “Just Us” branding in Orange is added underneath on both feet.

The shoe and sock combination will release on October 25th, 2013 at 11am EST in very limited quantities exclusively at Kith NYC stores (10am EST at Kith Manhattan) and KithNYC.com for $160 USD. Stay tuned this week to KithSet.com further details on how to sign-up to purchase in-store at Kith locations.

The sign-up lists at both Kith locations are now closed for the in-store release. Thank you to all who signed-up. The shoes will also be made available online at KithNYC.com on October 25th, 2013 at 11am EST.

In honor of the Ronnie Fieg x ASICS Gel Lyte III “Flamingo” shoe releasing this Friday, I was fortunate enough to team up with my good friends over at BWGH for a special apparel pack. The pieces include two short sleeve crewnecks and two special Stanton sweatshorts, one in a grey fit and the other in salmon. The body of each item is made with a lightweight Japanese French terry and features premium stitched chenille and loose ribbing. On the crewnecks, the chenille patches include blue and salmon touches to match the hues of the “Flamingo” Gel Lyte III. Each fit is handmade in Europe and includes recognizable BWGH curly yarns that also follow the color palette of the shoes. The Ronnie Fieg x BWGH “Flamingo” pack is exclusive to Kith NYC stores and KithNYC.com in very limited quantities. Pick up both fits starting Friday, August 2nd at 11am EST, $105 USD for the crewnecks and $90 for the shorts.

What started off as a 1-of-1 sample back in 2009 has evolved into what you see here today. After tweaking this color concept for the past few years, I am excited to finally present the Ronnie Fieg x ASICS “Flamingo” Gel Lyte III. After a number of trials later, the ash grey nubuck that covers the apron and quarter was chosen to represent the color of flamingos before they turn pink. It’s a grey mixed with beige, a hue of the flamingo’s feathers which aren’t always in clean conditions. The style is then mixed with the same grey mesh toebox and a grey mesh panel that’s added under the salmon leather stripes. The transformation from grey to pink is attributed to the flamingo’s consumption of shrimp, their food of choice. A white midsole is added below for a standout effect, while the outsoles include two-tone coloring in salmon and blue. The blue accents fit perfectly and the lining is made of a thin neoprene, a new tech material I have not applied to my collaborations until now. Highlights include stitched insoles that utilize memory foam cushioning for maximum comfort and three lace options of tonal grey, salmon, and rope salmon/blue. As with all Gel Lyte III models, the shoe features a split tongue, style branding on the side heel and ASICS branding on the midsole.

The release will take place on Friday, August 2nd, 2013 at 11am EST at both Kith NYC stores and KithNYC.com. In-store release information will be posted on RonnieFieg.com/blog on Wednesday, July 31st. The Ronnie Fieg x ASICS Gel Lyte III will release in limited quantities for $150 USD.

NEW YORK CITY (April 30th, 2013) — The Kith East Coast Project celebrates one coast and two cities with a unique approach to dual-brand designs. Launching in the Kith Miami pop-up store on May the 2nd, before they arrive in both Kith New York stores on May 10th, the new colorways and material executions of the ASICS Gel Lyte III are some of the best to date and they’re arriving accompanied by an ambitious and carefully curated capsule collection that takes the collaboration concept to the next level.

Based on Ronnie Fieg’s love of the city that made him and the other city he loves, two of the most iconic team color combinations ever are presented with uncompromising approaches to fit and quality. The ASICS Gel Lyte III is the shoe that changed running shoe design forever — from the tongue to the “caged” reflective panel to the midsole densities to the heel — as performance stepped into the 1990s. The split-tongued, comfort-driven cult classic is perfect for wear in cool and warm climates and its versatility is celebrated in this Kith duo.

RONNIE FIEG x ASICS “NEW YORK CITY” GEL LYTE III

The Ronnie Fieg ‘New York City’ ASICS Gel Lyte III blends a perforated pigskin toebox and quarter panel with a soft nubuck quarter and heel counter. Woven mesh, a light grey midsole, 3M stripes and “eyes” on the toe, plus an instantly recognizable duo of blue and orange is a perfectly executed combination.

RONNIE FIEG x ASICS “MIAMI BEACH” GEL LYTE III

The Ronnie Fieg ‘Miami Beach’ ASICS Gel Lyte III is made from a microperf nubuck with a woven mesh toebox and collar. The orange 3M stripes, “eyes” on the toe and heel panel complement the luxurious feel perfectly and the white plastic eyelets set off a definitive football color palette.

For this pack the legendary comfort of the Gel Lyte III is elevated with the addition of a newly developed, sewn-in memory foam comfort footbed that was created specially for the East Coast Project collection. A first time creation for ASICS. Each shoe comes packed with a pair of custom-created ‘New York City’ or ‘Miami Beach’ “Just Stance” ultralight cotton, super invisible socks with embroidered detailing and ultralight cushioning. For extra wear options, a flat lace and two sets of custom round laces that weave in the key colors of the given cities are also included. The full sneaker and sock set will retail for $145 USD.

The Ronnie Fieg x ASICS East Coast Project ‘New York City’ and ‘Miami Beach’ releases will go on sale in limited numbers alongside the full capsule collection exclusively at the Kith Miami pop-up store on Thursday, May 2nd through May 10th each day. The Miami pop-up store itself will be divided into two parts, the two adjacent storefronts will have the Miami side open from 11am to 3pm and the next door New York side of the location open from 4pm to 8pm.

Then on May 10th, the “Miami Beach” colorway will hit Kith Brooklyn only and the “New York City” colorway will hit Kith Manhattan only, as well with both colorways releasing online at KithNYC.com at 11am EST.

Starting May 2nd up until May 10th, the East Coast Project and the Miami pop-up is just the start of something: “This is the appetizer…”

A salute to the greatest city on earth and a tribute to the city that Kith considers a second home. #ECP

What would this all be worth if we didn’t give back? Everything we accomplish, everything we do, after each milestone there is temporary happiness. Achieving goals is definitely a priority but are there goals set to help others? This business consumes my life more and more each day and we all get caught up in things that make us forget how fortunate we are to be in certain positions. Most of us are fortunate to have opportunities and live in an environment where we don’t need to worry about food or water, about shoes or clothing, or about an education and shelter.  Kids in Haiti aren’t fortunate. They are hungry and suffering. Donating 300 pairs of shoes won’t save them, I know that. But it’s a start. Pete told me when he distributed these shoes, the look on these kid’s faces were unforgettable and that makes me happy. Over the next few years I will do all I can to help raise funds for building schools and helping these kids receive footwear so they can go about their day without having to worry about that.

I sent Pete Forester to Haiti to distribute these Super Green Asics and he came back a changed man. I’d like to thank Pete for his efforts and hopefully his photos will inspire everyone to join us in trying to make a difference. Next year I am looking forward to going myself and helping in every way I can. I am posting this not to promote the Super Greens but so you can help make a difference. I’m begging all of you to click this Soul For Souls link and help those that are in need. It doesn’t have to be much, EVERYTHING COUNTS. Photos by Pete Foreseter.

Originally released in 1990, the ASICS Gel Saga returns this Spring with its traditional light-weight design and textural contrasts. The all new Navy/Neon colorway features nylon and smooth synthetic materials on the upper and a Gel cushioned sole below with speckle detailing. This shoe remains a classic for runners and ASICS fanatics alike. Available now in numbered quantities, pick up the all new ASICS Gel Saga colorway and re-stocks of past styles at Kith Manhattan and KithNYC.com for $90 USD.

Ready for Spring 2013, ASICS presents the Gel Saga in Grey/Orange and the Gel Lyte III in Royal Blue/Grey. The Gel Saga ($90 USD) was originally released in 1990 and uses its traditional light-weight design and textural contrasts. Made with a Gel cushioned sole, the shoe combines grey synthetic and black suede on the upper with orange detailing on the laces, heel and sole. The Gel Lyte III ($95 USD) is one of ASICS’ most popular models, here we see it Spring-ready featuring a split tongue and gel cushioning. The light grey suede upper defines most of the upper while neon colors accent the sneaker around the toe box, lining, and outsole. Both shoes are available now in limited quantities at Kith NYC stores and KithNYC.com.

I’m proud to present the Ronnie Fieg for Asics, GT-II “High Risk”. The name “High Risk” stems from the red Pantone used for the accents on this shoe, and the all over purple and red colorway was a big design risk for me. I barely use purple in my designs and i always felt it was a tricky color to get right. Using a unique purple shade and nicely blended red, I felt the design was really pushing the the envelope on the GT-II. The result was outstanding shoe that uses a soft pigskin front and leather build on the back. Underneath the side strips is a standout 3M fabrication, along with cotton lining and a tongue featuring perforated leather. Beneath sits Gel cushioning technology and a red sole wrapping it all together. You can check out the Ronnie Fieg x ASICS GT-II “High Risk” on the shelves at Kith NYC stores right now in very limited quantities for $145 USD. The shoe was previously released online yesterday via a Kith NYC Kithstrike and has since sold out. There will be no phone orders, in-store only.
