The store is finally complete. There were things being added daily so I wanted to wait until it was 100% finalized before asking Sean to shoot. I would love to hear your thoughts on the build out, leave a comment.

That is crazy! Very sophisticated color pallete and material treatments. The desaturated panels make the shoes “pop” off the wall like they are supposed to! Very nicely done.

I love the wood look and that ladder on the side. Does it have a use?
Also, what’s the cash wrap look like? And can I bug you for a photo from the back wall out?

Overall store looks incredible. Keep it going sir!

Xlan: I believe the ladder is used to get shoe boxes from the storage on top.

Anyways, from being inside the store and just viewing on here and in other shots of the store from the Salmon Toe release recap, I would say that the wood all around makes for a very sophisticated look that matches the feel of the store perfectly. Regardless of whether you decided to put in the wood or if it had to be carried over from Atrium, that’s a good look.

The layout of shoes son the walls is fine. The cushions in the middle of the store give it a nice welcoming feel, as if you’re telling the customer, “Here, sit down for a minute.” The iPad wall gives some nice “pop” to the dark wood. Not to mention that the line of iPads is great for displaying product shots, as you probably figured when you bought them.

The only thing that seems a bit off is the amount of stuff on the shelves below the iPads. Unless it’s partly product, I would say leave those shelves to just magazines, books, and the speaker.

But as I told Adam and Sean when Dylan and I were there, the store overall is really nice! Hope my comments help, and can’t wait to come back!

Having worked in the planning/creative/visual merchandising realms for a number of years my first instinct when walking into any store is to assess this side of things.

The overall aesthetic of any new build is in my eyes the most important aspect of it and the most common mistake made by any retailer is leaving the VM and creative elements to become almost an after thought. In this age of recession one often finds retailers trying to drive the $$$$(/££££ on our UK flex) off their limited space to the detriment of the overall vibe of the store itself. Throwing in additional fixturing, some crazy big till point and simply trying to drive as many sales off a mat not worthy of it.

What you have done is something quite special in this day and age, created a selling space that contains everything one needs and ultimately suits its purpose. A welcoming environment, a space which allows the perfect level of client interaction and an aesthetic that is in fitting with the ethos of the KITH brand.

You get a feel of quality, which I know Ronnie himself drives, a sense that you are getting more from your experience as a customer than simply buying shoes. This reflects on the product and ultimately is the kind of environment which guarantees return custom.

Hats off to KITHset, the store team, Ronnie and your planners.
