2012 marked the first PUMA and Ronnie Fieg project, successfully launching the Disc Blaze OG “Cove” to an eager market of sneaker aficionados. It is no coincidence that this season, for the second time, we worked on the Disc Blaze.

The PUMA Disc Blaze compliments the unique and complex construction of the human foot. In order to achieve the highest possible performance and comfort, it is essential that a shoe fits the individual foot to support and control, without limiting the natural freedom of movement. The groundbreaking PUMA Disc System meets this challenge and forms the perfect synthesis of foot and shoe. One of the most successful styles in the range is the Disc Blaze that features Trinomic technology, was launched in 1992. The Disc Blaze is harnessed by PUMA’s signature no-lace, Disc closure system from the early Trinomic era.

This season the Ronnie Fieg x Puma Disc Blaze COA gives the early 1990s running favorite an appropriately luxurious look and feel, with a new toe shape, reconstructed vamp and added mudguard. The Disc Blaze comes in two carefully selected and complementary colorways, Mint and Coral. Both feature pebbled black leather, 1H coral brushed nubuck, premium leather, 3M branding and 3M speckled midsoles.

In conjunction with the Disc Blaze COA drop, we have also partnered on a special store overseas. The KITH Coat of Arms pop-up will be open for 7 days throughout Men’s Fashion Week in the heart of Paris.

The PUMA Disc Blaze COA will launch at the COA pop up in Paris which will be open from January 16th to 22nd at 23 Rue De Roi De Sicile. The store will be open from 11am-7pm.

To purchase the Ronnie Fieg x PUMA Disc Blaze COA shoes, Kith will be distributing tickets to those in line starting January 15th at 10am on a first come, first serve basis with a scheduled time to shop the following day for the shoes. Kith will be handing out 84 tickets per day for an opportunity to purchase a pair of the Ronnie Fieg x PUMA shoes on the following day with a valid ticket. Daily updates will be sent out via Twitter (@KithSet) when all the tickets are given out for that day. With a ticket, customers will be allowed to purchase one pair of Ronnie Fieg x PUMA Disc Blaze COA shoes with only one colorway per ticket as well as the full Kith COA collection. The shoes will retail for 165 Euros.

Kith is pleased to present its latest exclusive RF Design Timberland.

Adjusted to meet contemporary requirements, the Ronnie Fieg x Timberland 6” 40 Below presents a fresh new image of a certified classic. Intelligently designed and beautifully crafted, the boot introduces a new level of considered luxury to the four-decade long legacy of Timberland. With reverence to the character of the original Super Boot, Ronnie Fieg and Timberland have built, through collaboration, a new icon. Dropped four inches, the rugged 40 Below now matches the classic 6″ workboot in height. It is a boot that represents the past, present, and future of Timberland.

Following the return of the indestructible Super Boot in celebration of Timberland’s 40th Anniversary collection, Ronnie Fieg pays homage to its history and the legacy of NYC’s 8th street shoe shops. Originally produced in 1979 to withstand harsh working conditions, the 40 Below reached cult status when worn by Tupac’s renegade character Bishop in the 1992 film, Juice. Two years later, Fieg began working as a stock-boy at an 8th street shoe shop serving customers with a footwear selection that exceeded expectations.

On 8th street, people reached for items like the Super Boot and turned hardwearing footwear into street icons. Largely unheralded in the pantheon of New York City shopping districts, the short stretch between 6th and 5th Avenues defined the city’s footwear trends and became a mecca for celebrities and day-trippers alike. Today, Kith honors the tradition of 8th Street shoe sellers by offering a similar escape from the retail norm and goes a step further—taking a hand in designing future classics that meld tried and true style with advanced functionality.

The Ronnie Fieg x Timberland 6” 40 Below comes in three colors. The first, a Butter Pecan nubuck ($250 USD), recalls the Classic 6” Timberland but surprises with every detail. Lined to the toe with sheepskin, the Butter Pecan boot reimagines the utilitarian Super Boot with an opulent, street savvy look. It is complemented by two sumptuous suede offerings — Cinnamon and Plum in color ($220 USD) — which keep the typical 200g primaloft lining associated with the Super Boot and are lined with a smooth, super-soft cow leather. All boots are fitted with the brass d-ring and hook hardwear and decorated with distinctive “RF” embossing on the lateral side below the collar and tongue. Dual-branded hangtags and Kith-branded lace locks finish the look.

In all, Fieg’s design retains the traditional elements of the 40 Below—ultra-warm lining and that unmistakable stacked collar—and transforms it through contemporary, luxury fabrication. It is an example of recognizing the integral elements of a good product and bridging a gap between style and function. The objective is two-fold: First, solve a problem presented by a gap in the market and second, employ fabric and hardware selections that elevate the finished product. The RF x Timberland 6” 40 Below pulls from the unparalleled history of the New Hampshire-based brand and further entrenches the company in the trajectory of function-born street fashion. Highlighting the strengths of both parties, the boot is a triumph of true collaboration.

All three boots will launch exclusively at the new Kith pop-up shop at 66 Bleecker Street (between Broadway and Crosby), as well as at Kith Brooklyn and KithNYC.com on December 14th at 11am EST. Due to the fact that each boot style is limited to only 250 pieces, there will be a strict 1 piece per product/size per customer.

Last week marked the opening of the Kith courtyard, a special area made from Brazilian walnut wood and mirror polished steel, a heritage/future feel that brings our two-room concept together. The “Americana” 577 helps bridge the gap between our two rooms, the Americana heritage space and our avant-garde futuristic space.

The upper on the Ronnie Fieg x New Balance 577 “Americana” is made from two shades of pig skin suede that esthetically looks like denim but actually feels like a rich and oily pig skin. It’s a leather that I have yet to see anywhere and was very excited to apply to the 577 silhouette. The shoe also consists of navy 3M details, debossed patches on the tongue, navy cotton lining, co-branded footbeds and three sets of custom laces.

The shoe will drop at a random time today on Kithnyc.com for $160 USD and will be limited to one pair per person. They will not release in the Kith shops today.

I’ve been working on this shoe for over 15 months now and after dozens of trials I feel ready to put out a shoe that represents something so special to me. A lot of my projects are based off of my favorite things, with this one being no different. The “Daytona” 1600 is directly inspired by trips to Daytona Beach in Florida that I use to take with my family when I was younger. Something I always cherished and appreciated.

The Ronnie Fieg x New Balance “Daytona” 1600 comes blocked with three micro-perforated leathers. The heel consists of a tan luggage leather, the saddle is a 1H brushed off white nubuck, and finishing off the shoe is a bolded navy oily pigskin. Matching navy accents are seen on the branded heel, “N” side panel patch, and on the midsole and sockliner that come together perfectly. Pink accents finish off the set of co-branded lace locks on the front, the same “N” side panel patch, on detailed sections of the toebox and under the tongue. An ABZORB cushioned midsole adds high profile shock absorption for comfort to each pair.

3M detailing in pink, white, and ultramarine coincide with the three sets of laces included. Co-branded white laces are complemented by a beige flat lace and a two-tone rope lace. Each pair of shoes will come packaged with a special set of Kith x Stance “Daytona” Super invisible socks.

This special Black Friday release will launch exclusively at both Kith locations starting at 6am on Friday, November 29th, 2013 for $175 USD. This will be a first come, first serve release with a strict no line up policy before midnight. Please see security or staff outside of each store with any questions at that time. The shoes will release online at KithNYC.com on Black Friday at 11am EST.

The Super Invisible sock ($10 USD) comes in the same Navy/Pink/White colorway but features Kith branding on the top of the foot, and New York City printed on the bottom. The Super Invisible sock will also be packaged and included into each box of Ronnie Fieg x New Balance 1600 “Daytona” shoes. Look for the Kith x Stance “Daytona” Socks to release at Kith stores and on KithNYC.com starting Friday, November 29th, 2013.
