I started working on this Project 15 months ago and it’s finally here. The idea was to work on a silhouette that is extremely classic but provides a twist that would sustain the brand’s iconic DNA. The Star Player 75 provides everything you would usually get with a Converse Chuck Taylor but with the added heritage of the Star Chevron logo. The leather wrapped midsole, perforated calf-skin leather lining, leather laces and tabs, embossed logos and all tonal premium leather uppers make these extremely special. Add the fact that there are only 300 pairs per color available exclusively at David Z., I think it would be safe to say they become must haves for the season. Priced at $110 for the Hi and $105 for the Ox, these will both be available this Friday, March 18th 10am Est. at the David Z. flagship (556 Broadway between Prince and Spring St. 212.274.9044) as well as online at DavidZ.com. “When the Star Player debuted in 1975, it combined everything original, active and cool. Combining iconic Star Chevron style with an unmistakable Converse silhouette, the Star Player was a true game changer. The shoe brought a new dimension to the game and staked its claim all the way from the courts to the street. With classic designs in leather, the Spring 2010 lineup showcases how original designs remain modern.” via
