6 months ago I went down to the Bahamas and I took a picture that you might remember. It was taken at The Cove, a prestige resort located in The Atlantis Bahamas. The trip took place right after the holiday season and i was able to clear my head and soak in the scenery. It was necessary for me to express the amazing visuals through my favorite silhouette and share it with the world. A few months ago i set up the photo shoot in Aruba with Colombian model Soraya Yd and this was all shot with my father’s 26 year old film Nikon FG. I was able to capture the same scenery on a private beach with amazing waters. Those close to me can tell you how long I’ve been excited about this project, my favorite Gel Lyte iii i have worked on thus far. Release info and product shots coming soon.

I teamed up with the rest of the Cultureshoq staff to create the 2nd version of their Gel Lyte III. The shoe features a premium white perforated leather upper with grey pig skin and black nubuck accents. Priced at $105, 190 pairs will be available for men as well as 24 pairs for women(unisex sizing) on Davidz.com tomorrow 8/13 at 10am est. A small run will also be available at the flagship store in soho (556 Broadway 212.431.5450)

These Gels are so clean. Shout to my Cultureshoq family. I almost got into a fight cause someone tried to shoot these off my feet today. Photo shoot will take place in Miami next weekend. Stay tuned.

As we get closer to the next chapter off of The Sebago Nexus Project I wanted to share some pictures from our trip down to the Dominican Republic. This project means a lot to me, I was able to work with a team of very talented individuals who influence me on an every day basis. A big thanks to Marcus Troy, William Yan, Greg Weinstein, Josh Kissi, and Jake Davis for helping turn my dream into reality.

J Cole sporting my Brown Sebago Lighthouse boots. These are going to be a major problem this year, having already selling out the first go around we just received a re order a few days ago. You could purchase them today for $140 here.

I got together with one of my favorite brands to create a true classic, the “Matte Black” Clarks Original Desert Boot. I always wanted a pair of black Clarks Desert boots but they only came in a rough suede upper and a blacked out sole, a dope option but not as premium as what i would ultimately prefer. About a half a year ago we got in these Desert Boots in a beige oily nubuck called the “oakwood” and I fell in love with the leather used for the upper. I knew then that i needed to see the same textured nubuck in a black version but keeping the sole traditional and classic with the original crepe color-way. The outcome? A true classic with a high grade twist. Available Here at the David Z. flagship store (556 Broadway 212.431.5450). Shots by SQ.

Last Thursday night i celebrated the release of the Sebago Nexus Project with all of my close friends and co-workers. It truly was an amazing event, it was good to see so many people support this project that the Nexus team worked so hard on to bring to fruition.  Shout to everyone in these pics, sorry but the list would be too long. I’d like to thank the entire Nexus team- Marcus Troy, Josh Kissi, Travis Gumbs, Greg Weinstein of Cultureshoq, William Yan, and Jake Davis. I would also like to give a special thanks to Sean Quincy, Dj Drewlife, and Pj of Don for always supporting and being part of my movement. And lastly the entire Sebago team especially Tom Siano, Natalie Tassell, and Gary Malamet for making this all possible. This one means a lot to me.

I gathered the individual bloggers who have influenced me most and brought them with me to the Dominican Republic to work on the Sebago Nexus Project. I worked hand in hand with each blogger as we designed a collection of shoes and boots that will be releasing throughout the Summer and Fall of 2010. We were able to get up close and personal with the factory employees and work with the machinery to hand craft our own designs. It was a truly amazing experience to witness the craftsmanship that goes into manufacturing each and every pair of Sebago shoes, an authentic quality product.

Gary Malamet and I were featured in this month’s issue of Footwear News. Gary is the man making things happen over at Sebago, much respect.
